Best of the Fest: Edinburgh Short Film Festival 2025

<b>This screening will be introduced by Edinburgh Short Film Festival director Paul Bruce.</b> The Edinburgh Short Film Festival is excited to screen our award winners and some of the best films from our 2025 edition at Filmhouse. Best of the Fest is a one-off programme including our award winners from three categories. There’s some outstanding Italian stop-motion which won Best Stop Motion at the Animotion Film Festival, an award-winning, beautifully photographed and poignant Indian LGBT+ drama, award winning French drama featuring a time travelling phone, as well as our Best Scottish film award winner and winner of the 48 Hour Film Festival Global award. There’s a tense US coming-of-age drama with a humane and empathetic touch, and winner of 6 awards, as well as a moving and award-winning Scottish dance film and dark and very funny London-set Scottish comedy along with a delightful and dreamlike, coming-of-age, Scottish stop-motion. Whet your appetite for our 16th edition, which will be back at Filmhouse from November with another hand-picked collection of the world’s best shorts of last year.
