Palestine 36

Wandering between his home in the country and the frenetic buzz of Jerusalem, Yusuf wishes for a life beyond the simmering unrest - villages across 1936 Mandatory Palestine are beginning to rise against British colonial rule. History, however, stops for no-one in Palestine's official submission for the Academy Awards. Jewish immigrants continue to arrive from Europe, escaping rising anti-semitism there. The Palestinian population unite in the largest and longest rebellion against Britain's 30-year control of the region. All sides begin an inevitable spiral towards conflict, as a integral moment for the British Empire and the future of the Middle East approaches. 29th November will mark the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. A special pre-recorded introduction with director Annemarie Jacir will play ahead of the screening on this day to mark the occasion.DramaPT1H58M12A2025-10-31
