In Richard Linklater's Nouvelle Vague, you can spot Robert Bresson making Pickpocket in the Paris Métro - indeed, Linklater has also namedthe filmin his top ten picks from the Criterion Collection. In a rather delightful piece of what you could call method acting, one of Michel's accomplices is played by Henri Kassagi, a French-Tunisian pickpocket who also acted as an advisor on the film. Unfortunately for Henri, following the film's release, his face was far too well known to continue plying his usual trade - so of course, he switched careers to being a stage magician!CrimePT1H15MPG2026-02-10
