A father and his son arrive at a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco. They’re searching for Marina - daughter and sister - who vanished months ago at one of these endless, sleepless parties. Surrounded by electronic music and a raw, unfamiliar sense of freedom, they hand out her photo again and again. Hope is fading but they push through and follow a group of ravers heading to one last party in the desert. As they venture deeper into the burning wilderness, the journey forces them to confront their own limits.
Our very own Programme Director Rod White named Sirāt as the top film that he watched in 2025 - and now we can't wait to share it with you! It's not just Rod though, as Oliver Laxe's film has been picking up awards and nominations left, right and centre, with four at the Cannes Film Festival - including the Jury Prize, the Cannes Soundtrack Award for Kangding Ray's pounding electronic score, and perhaps most importantly the prestigious Palm Dog Grand Jury Prize for Pipa and Lupita's outstanding canine performance. It also picked up two Golden Globes nominations for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Score, and has been nominated for both Best International Feature and Best Sound at the Academy Awards.DramaPT1H55M152026-02-22
