But their pastel tranquility is shaken when Armand's son announces that he's getting married to the daughter of ultra-conservative Senator Keeley... and they're all getting together for dinner! Can Armand and Albert transform themselves into Mr. and Mrs. Family Values in time? It'll take the performance of their lives!<br><br><i>The Birdcage</i>, a remake of 1978 French-Italian film <i>La Cage aux Folles</i>, is one of the most iconic queer films of all time, and there are few better for the Lavender Lens Queer Community Programming Group to choose to celebrate Pride Month. The film features Robin Williams and Nathan Lane as Armand and Albert Goldman, attempting to convince the Keeleys, played by Gene Hackman and Dianne Wiest, of their "heterosexuality", with a star turn from Christine Baranski.
