The Bride!

One-time screen partners in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, Christian Bale and Maggie Gyllenhaal reunite, this time with the latter behind the camera, directing this tale that draws inspiration from 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein. Jessie Buckley stars in the titular role, also reuniting with Gyllenhaal after leading her directorial debut, The Lost Daughter. In the 1930s, a lonely Frankenstein (Bale) travels to Chicago to seek the aid of ahead-of-her-time physician and researcher, Dr. Euphronius (Annette Bening), in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman named Ida and the Bride (Buckley) is born. What transpires goes so much further than what either of them could've imagined: Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural movement! And outlaw lovers in a wild and combustible romance!HorrorPT2H6MTBC2026-03-06
