It seems the young woman's brother is violently opposed to her planned marriage and resorts to macabre ends to prevent the tainted Usher blood from spreading to future generations.</div><div><br></div><div><i>The Fall of the House of Usher </i>is the first of eight Roger Corman films based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe. Many production companies at the time had commisioned Poe adaptations; this one was particularly important to the successes of American International Pictures, as it marked a shift in focus from black-and-white films for double bills to larger-budget colour features.
