The Last of Sheila was written by friends Anthony Perkins (of Psycho fame) and legendary musical theatre composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, based on the murder mystery scavenger hunts the pair used to throw for their friends in 1960s and 70s Manhattan - sound familiar, Knives Out fans? Director Herbert Ross attended one of these games, and thus The Last of Sheila was born - a highly original, inventive, and sharp murdery mystery film that directly influenced Rian Johnson in creating the Knives Out trilogy and makes for a Perfect Pair with its latest instalment, Wake Up Dead Man.
Sheila is killed in a hit and run. A year later, her multi-millionaire husband invites a group of friends to enjoy a week-long vacation on his yacht, taking part in a scavenger hunt-style mystery game. However, the game transpires to be more than just that - and even more deadly.CrimePT2H152025-12-07
