The Love That Remains

The Love That Remains follows a family over a year as the parents work their way through a separation. Full of whimsical, mischievous and poignant scenes, the film depicts a family's shared moments and the bittersweetness of fading love in amongst the changing of the seasons. Director of Godland, a film that proved very popular in our re-opening week last June, Hlynur Pálmason's The Love That Remains took home perhaps the most prestigious of awards at last year's Cannes Film Festival - the Palm Dog, awarded to the director's own canine companion, Panda, for her part in the film. In fact, in a through-line from Pálmason's other films in what is otherwise a departure from the usual grand scope of his filmography, all three of the director's own children appear on screen together in major roles for the first time - having frequently appeared separately previously - contributing to the intimate and homemade feel of the film.DramaPT1H49M152026-03-13
