On January 29 2024, volunteers for the Red Crescent in Gaza take an emergency call. They hear the voice of a 6-year old girl, begging to be rescued from inside a car which is taking heavy fire. The volunteers do their best to keep her on the call while attempting to get an ambulance to her location. Her name was Hind Rajab.
Writer-director Kaouther Ben Hania dropped everything during her Oscar campaign for Four Daughters and pre-production for a film she had been writing for over ten years, after hearing the full 70-minute recording of Hind Rajab's real phone call to the Red Crescent. The incredibly important and confrontational The Voice of Hind Rajab took home multiple awards including the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival, where it also broke the record for the longest standing ovation for a film premiere, at 23 minutes and 50 seconds.DramaPT1H29M152026-01-16
